Michigan Boudoir Session: What to Bring?

I often get asked, “Besides my outfits, what should I bring to the session?”

Well, the answer is pretty simple… You can bring whatever you want! You can overpack, or just bring the minimum (just the outfits). We will make it work either way!

However, if you need ideas, here are my favorites!

YOUR OUTFITS

Seems like a big “duh,” right? But it could happen! My recommendation for your session is to bring at a minimum 2 additional outfits than we set aside time for.

I recommend this because if we do end up with extra time, we will continue shooting! But also because if you try on something and it just doesn’t work for the photos, or heaven forbid something rips, or a zipper breaks, you will have backup outfits!

HEELS/SHOES/ACCESSORIES

You can bring whatever jewelry is important to you. For my brides, we know that is definitely going to be the engagement ring! For everyone else, that could be a special bracelet, or pair of earrings that make you feel stellar.

Another bridal favorite is the garter and the veil! Bring ‘em along!

Alright, so if jewelry isn’t your thing (don’t worry, it isn’t mine either), that is okay! I have some awesome add-ons in the studio that will make your session SPARKLE.

If you opt to bring heels for your session, please make sure they are at least 3.5-4”! Anything shorter makes it challenging to pose.

If you don’t really wear heels, you can always bring some cute Converse! They always are so stylish and cute in a more edgy, down-to-earth boudoir session. They also go with almost anything!

BDSM PLAY

I am not opposed to to getting a liiiittle more sultry with your session. You do not need to feel anxious, or nervous to ask me if it is okay to bring BDSM accessories to your session. In fact, I have a few pieces in the studio as special add-ons for certain packages if you pre-pay in full. Just please notify me if this is something you want to do in advance because it does require special paperwork!

AN OPEN MIND

I am sure there are some of you who think the color blue looks terrible on them, or that Converse are ugly, or that heels are cheesy - but I am asking you to be open minded throughout this experience because sometimes, the unplanned, or the most unexpected, turn out to be the BEST photos! Let’s embrace the random and the abnormal!

NO MATTER WHAT, REMEMBER…

To have fun, and SHOW UP for yourself. Bring your true authentic self, and immerse yourself in this experience.

Leave your stress and worry at the door, you are going to have so much fun, and look AMAZING doing it. And hey, don’t forget to go on a date later because your makeup will be fiyyyaaaa!

Isn’t that reason enough to book your Michigan boudoir experience?
